BI Tools in Excel

Hi all, I am hoping someone has an answer for me since I can’t find a phone number for technical support.  I have Sage Mas200 4.4 and just started using my SMI to generate financial reports.   When I generate the report and try to modify it in Excel, I am not able to access the BI tools; it says it is not licensed.  Can anyone tell me what is missing here?

What version of Excel are you using and is it 64 bit or 32 bit?

I am using Excel 2007 32 bit.

This is very helpful, thank you so much, although I tried it and it still says designer not license and my BI tools tab still missing.  Now is it because I dont have the connector license?

If you are just trying to access the BI Tools tab in Excel I don't believe you need a License for the Connector.

Have you registered your Report Manager in The License Manager?

Can you attach some screenshots showing these messages?

yes I have, and I have been running reports but haven't been able to use the BI tools tab.

So is the problem that you can access the Report Designer and create and run reports but once your in Excel the BI Tools tab is empty?

yes, I create the report but when am in Excel, the BI tool tab says no ducument loaded or designer not registered.

So you followed the steps in the video. I have had this happen a couple of times myself. One time I just reinstalled the SMI and that corrected it.

Also, in the Search BI Community (Upper Right Corner)  type BI Tools Missing. You should get some hits and maybe there is something already posted that will help.

I don't know if this will help, or if it's still a problem, but it happened to me too.  I had the BI Tools tab in Excel (I'm using 2010 32 bit) but no access to functionality.  After much trial and error with the good folks at Alchemex and Sage, it was determined that the issue was actually .NET framework.  I had 4.0 which appears to be missing some crucial files to the BI loader process.  They installed 3.51 and all is well now.
