Hi
I have adapted the BIC gene report to match our reporting requirements. It seems like some of the changes affect the functionallity thereof.
I have basically changed the present outlay where the System generated "Primary grouping" was the first variable to group Rows by to the Report category variable.
I works fine but does not update information if a templet is loaded.
I want to format reports and load it as templets in excell but this seems to be only possible provided the System generated Primary Grouping is the First Row variable selected.
If this is the case how do I get into the system to adapt the Primary Groupings to suite my needs?

HI Rudi
In order to try and assist I need a little more information. You say you have adpated the report, have you changed it in Excel or have you made the changes in the drag and drop interface?
If you are not using your primary grouping as your 1st level of grouping which field are you using?
When you say the it does not update information what do you mean? Are you generating a layout after you have adapted it and you are seeing now change in Excel?
When you say load templates, do you mean generate templates? You should be able to include any field at the first level of grouping. Once you have changed your first level of grouping and adapted your report to suit your requirements you shold save the layout and then it will be available for generation into Excel whenever you run the report.

Thanks for the response.
Let me xplain my problem in a bit more detail.
I have adapted the reports in the drag and drop interface no problem.
It allows me to generate reports.
I have used a Report Category in the Gl to structure my reports and as such used the Report category as the First variable to Group the rows. It is working.
All Report Categories have been linked to the report no problem. If you generate a report via the BI tools it works fine.
The problem comes in if generate a report, having it now in excell and modifying the report in excell for printing and layout i.e. opening and closing groups to show the besesarry detail and using borders to give it a professional layout. After doing all this I now make the report with an opened excell sheet the templet.
The problem now appears to be that if any new GL accounts are opened it does not update the excell formatted worksheet (when using the Report Category description as the First grouping of rows)
However doing all of this where the First grouping of rows are the Primary Grouping it does update the worksheet.
The Primary Grouping is system (Gene) generated, Im sure with some macros within the Gene. It is not spesified in the container nor in the columns as per the BI report.
I would lime to change and adapt the primary grouping such that I can use it as my First Row grouping allowing me to change the outlay of my reports to suit my needs. This will also enable me to setup the Gene reports in excell worksheets pre formatted outlays.
