I have just installed Alchemex Stand alone and am attemting to create a cube report using the information in the demo company (RKL Trading)  All goes well and i can choose trhe container, create the cube definition (dimensions and measures) but when i am trying to refresh / create the cube i get the following error message:

"an error occured while attemting to generate the cube.  It is possible that the underlying data container is problematic.  Would you like to test all the container expressions now"

when i select yes the message is either that all container expressions succeeded or error Number 91 object variable with block variable not set.

Has anybody come accross this issue before?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

(in the interim i will try with another database to see if it is the database that is problematic)

You can check for funny expressions/characters in your deminsions & measures i.e. / or @ or .

Hope this helps
Tried again with different database and all expressions fine but still getting an error creating the cube. Stephen I used the POSTGL table for Evo with no modifications and still the same issue.
Another bit of information.. if i try run the sales cube demo (that installed with alchemex) i get the following error:

Alchemex Error rendering Data

Application-defined or object-defined error

Thanks
Hi David
Application-defined or object-defined error could be due to multiple instances of Excel that is open.

Please close any instances of Excel and attempt to run your Sales Cube demo again.
Thanks Tyrone, still no joy. I even tried reinstalling Alchemex and uninstalling BIC to see if there was a conflict. I am running windows 7 professional with office 2010 and the latest version of Evolution and Alchemex. I am stumped. Does anyone have a demo database that they know works that i can try?

Tanks again
Hi Dave, try this sales cube report, it is using RKL.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Ruth! I just tried it and still getting an Application-defined or object-defined error. I get as far as the multi dimensional connection which i point to the sales cube in the alchemex folder and then get an error.

I have also followed the example step by step on the webinar and still no joy.
Hi David

What version on Excel 2010 are you using, 64 bit or 32 bit? You can do this in Office 2010 by selecting File menu and then Help.
Hi Deshen,

Its MS Office Home and Business (32-bit) on a 64bit OS.
Any new update on this? I am also experiencing the rutime error. Have you got yours working?
